it's leviosaaa

In eager anticipation of the theatrical release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Alejandra and Jeannie are going to have the best HPfest ever. Starting now, we will read two books and watch two movies a month until the 6th movie comes out. Along the way, we'll be posting our inane musings and ridiculous questions and it'll be awesome.
Jeannie will probably hijack this blog and post random things about other fandoms too, so.. you've been warned.

Fare thee well

Okay, so.. I am officially (?) retiring itsleviosaaa. It was kind of inevitable, whatwith this being a countdown of sorts. I am sad to leave here, but I’ve got plenty of other geeking out to do elsewhere (see: my personal tumblr and my tumblr of geeky lists). But I can’t bear to take down our efforts over the last few months so this will stay up. And just in case Ale ever feels the need to geek out over Harry Potter, she will have a place to come back to. I imagine possibly coming back to this specific blog once we gear up for DH Parts I and then II? But until then…

Thanks for reading/following and most of all, for humoring us.

Tom Felton speaking about a scene with Alan Rickman:

“At the very end of a scene, after Snape has done his bit, we’re sort of walking out of the Great Hall in this goose, v-wing formation in which he’s at the front; he’s the sort of leading goose if you will.

“And he’s got this almost wedding dress cape on that seems to go three metres on the ground and the director was very keen for us to stay close behind to him, and of course, ‘don’t look at where your feet are going.’

“Naturally, before we started filming, Alan turned around in his very sinister way and said, ‘don’t step on my cloak.’ And we all sort of didn’t know whether he was joking or not.

“On the second take I dug my heel well and truly on it, which ripped his neck back in a hilarious fashion in my eyes but at the time it didn’t go down well. There was a rather awkward silence afterwards.

“Saying that, Alan is an incredibly nice guy and one of the funniest people on the set. There’s a lot of confusion there, people think that he’s a very sinister guy, but he’s hilarious really.”

“So I reread deathly hallows yesterday and discovered that ron never named one of his kids fred. Why did I always think that he did??”

answer: (probably?) got it confused with fan fiction? oh man. i hate when that happens. why didn’t anyone name a kid after fred?? i’m going to pretend/assume that george did.

Remembered you’re not at school, have you?” said Scrimgeour, breathing hard into Harry’s face. “Remembered that I am not Dumbledore, who forgave your insolence and insubordination? You may wear that scar like a crown, Potter, but it is not up a seventeen-year-old boy to tell me how to do my job! It’s time you learned some respect!”
“It’s time you earned it,” said Harry.
